Drag-and-Drop Field of View
- Practice using an acetate ruler to determine the diameter of field of view for low power (dFOVlp). Drag the acetate ruler over the field of view to measure it. Line the ruler up along an imaginary (dotted) line running across the middle of the dFOV. (Answer = 5 mm)
- Drag the acetate ruler out of the dFOV and drag the box in. Calculate the actual size of the box by determining how many boxes will fit across the dFOV. Then use the equation for actual size. To check your work, measure the box with the acetate ruler and confirm that both the answer you get using the equation and using the ruler are the same or very close. (Answer = 1 mm)

To find the dFOVmp and dFOVhp for a microscope, you can't use the actetate ruler. Instead, use the equations you learned in class. Practice with these problems.
